BAFTA Games Awards 2020 : Les nommés dans les 18 catégories sont connus

Les Game Awards sont sans conteste la cérémonie de récompenses la plus médiatisée de l’année. Néanmoins, d’autres cérémonies tout aussi prestigieuses existent et distinguent les jeux sortis dans les derniers mois. C’est notamment le cas des BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts). Cet événement annuel qui se déroule en Grande-Bretagne se tiendra tout prochainement et vient d’annoncer sa liste de nommés, avec un record à la clé.

Depuis 17 ans que la cérémonie dédiée aux jeux vidéo existe, c’est la première fois que 11 nominations sont attribuées pour un titre. Fait encore plus exceptionnel, deux jeux réalisent cet exploit : Control et Death Stranding. Les deux titres partagent ainsi de nombreuses catégories, comme Animation ou Direction Artistique, mais seul le titre de Remedy apparaît dans la catégorie Meilleur Jeu de l’année. A ses côtés, 5 autres jeux complètent la sélection phare des BAFTA, dont l’excellent Outer Wilds ou encore le primé Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice. 

Si Death Stranding est absent de la sélection GOTY, son créateur Hideo Kojima peut néanmoins déjà avoir le sourire. L’homme et célèbre créateur recevra en effet un prix spécial pour son travail. Lors de la cérémonie qui se déroulera le 2 avril prochain, le géniteur de Metal Gear Solid aura l’insigne honneur de figurer sur la liste des BAFTA Fellows et rejoindra de grands noms de l’industrie. Tim Schaffer (2018), John Carmack (2016) ou encore Gabe Newell (2013) et Will Wright (2007) avaient par exemple reçu la plus haute récompense de l’institution.

Vous pouvez découvrir la liste de tous les nommés plus bas. La cérémonie sera à suivre le 2 Avril 2020 et pourrait bien proposer quelques annonces en provenance de différents studios. Activision Blizzard, SEGA ou encore Ubisoft sont partenaires de l’événement et pourraient bien profiter de l’occasion pour s’afficher.
